CS Kariuki insists on teamwork for service delivery in the Ministry

Nairobi May 10, 2017

Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Mrs. Sicily Kariuki today held a round table meeting with the Chairpersons and CEOs of the Ministry's Semi-Autonomous Agencies (SAGAs) where she was briefed on the progress of the quarterly Performance Contract.


Giving a score card of their achievements on the past performances, the officers assured the CS that they will forge a cohesive approach so as to improve service delivery to the citizens and also help the Ministry’s achieve its mandate.


Emphasizing on the need to improve efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery, CS Kariuki urged the SAGAs to create synergy in order to have a greater impact from their activities.


She appealed to the entities to follow the laid down procedures in addressing whatever challenges that may crop up and seek guidance so as to be able to serve the public better and at the same time meet their set goals.


The meeting also deliberated on strategic issues, benchmarking amongst themselves and the need to work in an interlinked approach in support of Government agenda.


In conclusion, CS Kariuki underscored the importance of accountability and openness in service delivery noting that it is the core value for achieving optimal results.


The Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by Principal Secretary responsible for Gender Affairs Ms. Mwanamaka Mabruki.


In attendance were officials from the Women Enterprise Fund (WEF), Uwezo Fund, Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), Kenya School of Government and National Youth Council.
