Youth Mainstreaming and Field Services (YMFS)

The Directorate of Youth Affairs has offices throughout the country and provides support to youth through field services. The Field offices are headed by County Directors of Youth Development and Sub-County Directors of youth Affairs. The following are the functions of the County Directors of Youth Development. They are  

i. In-charge of Youth development affairs at the County.

ii. Act as the administrator and technical head of youth development affairs at the County.

iii. Coordinate and supervise youth development programs and activities in the County.

iv. Initiate, plan and implement youth development programs and activities in the County

v. Coordinate the implementation of the 30% preferential procurement of youth, women and persons with disability at the County.

vi. Monitor and evaluate youth and gender program and projects in the County.

vii. Coordinate the provision of secretariat services to Uwezo fund in all the constituencies in the County.

viii. Preparation of performance reports.

ix. Coordinate and supervise all the youth development officers

x. Coordinate youth skills development in the County.

 

Functions of Sub –County/Constituency Youth Development Officers

i. In-charge of Youth affairs at the Sub-County.

ii. Monitor and evaluate youth and gender program and projects in the Sub-County.

iii. Coordinate and supervise youth programs and activities in the Sub-County.

iv. Provision of secretariat services to Uwezo Fund in all the constituencies in the County.

v. AIE holders for Uwezo Fund at the constituency.

vi. Coordinate youth skills development in the Sub- County.

vii. Mainstream issues of gender and youth at the Sub-County level.

viii. Coordinate the implementation of the 30% preferential procurement regulations for youth, women and persons with disability.
